Members of the Lancaster County State Delegation discuss top issues affecting our busiensses including transportation and infrastructure; rising energy and health insurance costs; and business taxes. These issues are also under debate at the State Capitol, where Lancaster County legislators are making public policy decisions that impact the way you do business. During this breakfast meeting, attendees heard from Lancaster County's state delegation on how they're addressing today's most significant legislative issues.

Lancaster's Government Study Commission (GSC) members gave a fresh insight about their recommendation to move forward with a home rule charter at The Chamber's Wake Up to the Issues Forum held in August. Commissioners Dr. Carol Phillips, Mary Clinton, Sam Mecum, Jim Miller, Joyce Moyer, Bill Saylor, John Smucker and Heidi Wheaton discussed the majority's interim report to the community, their thoughts on how a home rule charter could provide the structure and flexibility to better serve Lancaster County citizens and future plans for the GSC. The four Republican candidates for County Commissioner addressed important business and community issues at a Chamber debate held Monday at Southern Market Center. Candidates Scott Martin, Charlie Smithgall, Dennis Stuckey and Heidi Wheaton expressed their viewpoints on transportation, Route 23, agriculture, economic development, diversity and more. With the primary approaching on Tuesday, March 15, now is the time to learn where the candidates stand on these timely and relevant issues.
